When you are sad…..I will dry your tears.
When you are scared…..I will comfort your fears.
When you are worried…..I will give you hope.
When you are confused…..I will help you cope.
And when you are lost…..And cannot see the light,
I shall be your beacon…..Shining ever so bright.
In ancient Greece, Socrates was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem. One day one fellow met the great philosopher and said, “Do you know what I just heard about your best friend?”. “Hold on a minute,” Socrates replied. “Before telling me anything I’d like you to pass a little test. It’s called the Triple Filter Test.”. “Triple filter?”. “That’s right,” Socrates continued. “Before you talk to me about my best friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you’re going to say. That’s why I call it the triple filter test. The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?” “No,” the man said, “actually I just heard about it and…”. “All right,” said Socrates. “So you don’t know if it’s true or not. Now let’s try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my best friend something good?” . “No, on the contrary…”. “So,” Socrates continued, “you want to tell me something bad about him, but you’re not certain it’s true. You may still pass the test though, because there’s one filter left: the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my best friend going to be useful to me?” “No, not really.” “Well,”concluded Socrates, “if what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?” This is why Socrates was a great philosopher & held in such high esteem. Friend, use this triple filter each time you hear loose talk about any of your near & dear friends.
Sometimes I feel I’m like an actress who is acting on the life stage
I fulfilled all the audience’s dreams
They seem to get what they wanted and look satisfied
I’m satisfied because of their satisfaction
This is an interesting cycle
Everyone around me in my life has his influence on me and so do I
No matter if the influence is great or small, strong or weak, it still exists
No matter if he is my beloved one, a best friend, an acquaintance or even an enemy,
we are in each other
Whenever I think of this, my heart becomes as broad as the world.
Attached to her silhouette near me
to every moment of her tenderness
I came back to the distant childhood
Attached to the footprints in spring
to the Japanese song she taught me
I was influenced by her happiness
Attached to the little garden at dusk
to the first time she told me her story
I was impressed by the beauty of her maturity
Attached to the rainy night
to the moment she came to say goodbye to me
I tasted the sadness of separation
