Print Grief Poems

Grief is an emotional response to the loss of someone or something loved. Healthy grieving is an act of love and remembering love. Grief comes in waves. The first wave of grief might feel overwhelming. However, each wave of grief eventually subsides. Comfort yourself “this too shall pass”. The better you respond to the waves of grief, the more quickly the waves of grief pass and the sooner you will complete your grief process. The grief process lasts from a few months to several years, depending on the type of loss experienced. That means to fight the waves of grief they will just get stronger. Move through your own grief to a point of peace and resolution effectively, and the waves of grief will subside more quickly. Don't suffer from these losses for the rest of your life. Be wiser and stronger in the grief process.

When we lost you we all lost our cool Poem Read: 2469

When you were on your death bed
we all thought you were gonna make it,
but as the days passed you seemed to worsen,
all we could do was watch you fail everyday,
cause there was nothing any of us could do,
when we lost you, we all lost our cool, and we started to cry.
The final day came on Saturday July 17, 2004,
we were all hoping for you to recover but that didn't seem to be happening,
as you were lying on your death bed I felt sorry for you,
we still aint recovered yet, I know it takes time,
I miss all the good times we shared together,
you were well loved by family and friends,
I wish we could've shared one last night together,
you are my guardian angel now, Im glad of that cause you really didn't leave this place,
Till the day we burried you, you were loved by family and friends,
and as our lives go on you will always be rememberd.
I Love You Aunt Lynn!!!!
In Memory Of Kathy Lynn Sabourin!!!!

The most grief night of my life Poem Read: 2598

I miss my Jake,
His bright face,
His steady pace,
It never seems to leave me,
When i dream,
I dream of him,
I dream of all those times he licked my face,
Beat me in a race,
Now that i cannot see him anymore,
i wish, i wish that i cud,
Just to see his fuzzy little face one more time,
would bring the world back into orbit,
But Jake,
Because your not here, My life well sucks,
There is no one here telling me it's ok,
there is no one here telling me that I will make it through,
Jake finding you in the pool was the most grief night of my life,
there was only one of you,
Now there is none

My poem of grief Poem Read: 2975

Seeing you lie there,
no movement, no life, no soul
broke my heart and
pushed me to the ground.
I began to cry and reached for love
but the one i loved had gone away
leaving me alone
to face the ever trying day
My head knew you were gone for ever,
but my heart held onto the hope you were just sleeping
for the all moments I saw you alive,
was a treasured moment worth keeping.
Now I need to let go for good,
but it is the hardest thing to do,
to let something go you love,
to have nothing there and nothing to do.
I had never loved something so dear
and for days i let my tears flow
until the realization hit me,
I had to let you go.

My other half Poem Read: 2513

I loved putting my head on your shoulder,
You kissed my forehead,
And told me it's alright.
Now you're a ghost
Invisible to my eyes
Haunting my heart.
You completed my thoughts and sentences
Because you knew me better than I knew myself.
The only thing that wasn't fleeting in my life,
And now it's gone.
Who am I,
And what am I supposed to do next?
Im on the edge again
Not knowing the real me.
Being someone and something Im not.
Save me from myself.
Im falling through.
On the edge again.
I need my wings.
I want to be alive,
Safe,
At home,
In your arms.

If Only Poem Read: 1216

*If Only Charene you were here,
I would have the chance to whisper in your ear
How much I love and miss you.
*If Only I would have left with you that day,
I could have found a way to make you stay.
*If Only they knew who stole your soul,
that fool with a heart of straight coal.
*If Only you would have stayed home,
We wouldn't have gotten the horrible news over the phone.
*If Only he wasn’t so stupid,
you wouldn't have been with him like he was cupid.
*If Only you saw what we did,
you would have completed your life with your two kids.
*If Only you would have come home that night,
you wouldn't have had to worry about that crazy fight, but instead a new life.
*If Only I had a chance to say I love you,
it now wouldn't feel like a dream come true (if it happened)
*If Only he had a heart,
you would have had a great new start.
*If Only I could have said goodbye,
I probably wouldn't stay up at night and cry.
*If Only your children could have knew you better,
they wouldn't think that there was no one caring.
*If Only they had their mom right now,
but they don't call their fathers a coward.
~The son thinks you didn't love him, and the daughter's smile is very grim.
~~So really IF ONLY is the only thing I can say now,
because I cannot tell you I love you and couldn't say goodbye.
So now all I do now..IS CRY!

your case will be solved ..if it takes me all my life.

If I had been there Poem Read: 2672

Is there really a point to being here,
What’s the point?,
What’s the fear?,
If I only knew,
How to help my friend,
She wouldn’t be there,
Well I guess here,
In the hospital,
With a babe in her arms,
If I hadn’t let her sip some,
She would have thought strait,
She would have hidden in her cape,
Not holding a babe from an unfortunate rape!.
It’s all my fault.

I remember my boyfriend's death and his smile Poem Read: 2749

One day, me
and my boyfriend
were walking on the street
We just came back from the mall and
we were turning a corner
Suddenly a car came swiving around and
my boyfriend was hit so
he was on the windsheild
The car was still moving
and we were both screaming
I ran after the car as it tried to stop.
Then, another car turned corner
and the car my boyfriend
was on crashed into it
My boyfriend was thrown off
and slid under the other car
I then knew he was dead
I screamed and tried to get under the car
The ambulance immediately
came and people were gathered around
Now, all I can remember of my
boyfriend
is his death and his smile
I love you
Jason
