The one you love has broken that special bond Hits: 3312 Short Love Poems

When your in pain its hard for you to cope,
but when its a family member who causes it you stop to think.
scientists believe its the shock that makes you freeze,
But when it happens to you, you know the real reason.
its because the one you trust, love and care for has broken that special bond,
its because the one person you'd never guess to do this has done it,
and because you never expected the worst to come.

The one I love Hits: 6200 Rhyming Love Poems

The one I love with all my might.
The one I'm thinking of tonight.
The one that helps me make things right.
The one I long to kiss goodnight.
The one I dream of when i sleep at night.
The one I think of when I hug my pillow tight.
The one that makes me happy when she comes into my sight.
The one I'm not giving up without putting up a fight.
- To "The One" that changed my life.

The Nicest Thing Hits: 3082 Short Inspirational Stories

One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name. Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down. It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers. That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual. On Monday, she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. "Really?" she heard whispered. "I never knew that I meant anything to anyone!" and, "I didn't know others liked me so much." were most of the comments. No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class with their parents, but it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on. Several years later, one of the students was killed in Vietnam and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student. She had never seen a service man in a military coffin before. He looked so handsome, so mature. The church was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk by the coffin. The teacher was the last one to bless the coffin. As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. "Were you Mark's math teacher?" he asked. She nodded ”yes." Then he said: "Mark talked about you a lot." After the funeral, most of Mark's former classmates went together to a luncheon. Mark's mother and father were there, obviously waiting to speak with his teacher. "We want to show you something," his father said, taking a wallet out of his pocket. "They found this on Mark when he was killed. We thought you might recognize it." Opening the billfold, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had obviously been taped, folded and refolded many times. The teacher knew without looking that the papers were the ones on which she had listed all the good things each of Mark's classmates had said about him. "Thank you so much for doing that," Mark's mother said. "As you can see, Mark treasured it." All of Mark's former classmates started to gather around. Charlie smiled rather sheepishly and said, "I still have my list. It's in the top drawer of my desk at home." Chuck's wife said, "Chuck asked me to put his in our wedding album." "I have mine too," Marilyn said. "It's in my diary." Then Vicki, another classmate, reached into her purse and showed her frazzled list to t he group. "I carry this with me at all times,” Vicki said and without batting an eyelash, she continued: "I think we all saved our lists." That is when the teacher finally sat down and cried. She cried for Mark and for all his friends who would never see him again. The density of people in society is so thick that we forget that life will end one day. And we don't know when that one day will be.

The most grief night of my life Hits: 2177 Grief Poems

I miss my Jake,
His bright face,
His steady pace,
It never seems to leave me,
When i dream,
I dream of him,
I dream of all those times he licked my face,
Beat me in a race,
Now that i cant see him anymore,
i wish, i wish that i cud,
Just to see his fuzzy little face one more time,
would bring the world back into orbit,
But Jake,
Because your not here, My life well sucks,
There is no one here telling me it's ok,
there is no one here telling me that i'll make it through,
Jake finding you in the pool was the most grief night of my life,
there was only one of you,
Now there is none

The Message Hits: 2763 Inspirational Poems

I've got the message,
it's the words i forget.
I am the electric buzz,
of a muted TV set.
Search thru static,
for words unspoken.
I am the radio,
who's antennae was broken.
Crumpled into a ball,
and tossed under your bed.
I am the paper,
of a poem misread.
Listen closely,
and I hope you find.
We can be the music,
that you don't rewind.

The Journey of Two Best Friends Hits: 16480 Best Friend Poems

You’ve seen me at my worst
You’ve seen me at my best
You’ve listened to my troubles
And helped them lay to rest

I wish you knew how much I miss you
I wish you knew how much I care
I wish you knew how many times
I’ve wished you were just right there

To talk about the old times
When life was so carefree
And we played like we were sisters
Even though it couldn’t be

We’ve been friends for so long
Ever since we were two and three
But then something small went wrong
And it grew too fast to see

I think talking was the key
That seemed to be out of grasp
And it slowly divided our friendship
Like poison from an asp

Then before I could comprehend
What had happened to two best friends
It ended up being farther than a walk next door
But a journey of a whole lot more

It doesn’t take long to get there
But it seems so far away
And since life isn’t always fair
I just hope to get there someday

And maybe I can celebrate
Your special day with you
I hope it will be this one
But I haven’t got a clue

So hopefully sometime
Our separation will end
And it will also finish
The journey of two best friends

(Dedicated to Andrea Bayles)

The hurt in your eyes Hits: 2928 Hurt Poems

Thirteen years
of pain and tears
my love for you
was always true
The things I’ve done
I know not why
I see the hurt
well up in your eyes
When you're not here
a part of my soul does die
Each night in bed
alone I cry
Soulmates once
but now no more
My heart bleeds for you
right to the core
I love you so
and always will
Regret is always
the bitterest pill

The Hole of Loneliness Hits: 5686 Lonely Poems

I say I will vagabond
but I am not used to the wandering life who knows
I say I will go far away
but I want to be back home who knows
Who knows behind silence there's a wound
Who knows behind indifference there's a weakness
I smile and say that I'm not afraid of loneliness
but I hold back the tears who knows
How I wish that someone could light a lamp for me
warm the hole of loneliness in my heart
Are you lonesome
I think everyone is the same
However
we don't know since when this world became colder and colder
After being hurt again and again
you learn to hide
I learn to be silent
no longer willing to tell others our own stories
not willing to express warmth to others either
We would rather make ourselves lonely and make the others lonesome too
However
actually, lonely human beings must keep each other warm
No one is absolutely strong
At the bottom of our heart
we all have weaknesses, empty places
Maybe in the rainy evening
maybe on the street at dusk
it becomes a wound without a reason
Don't say you aren't afraid of loneliness
don't pretend to be indifferent any more
because everyone has loneliness
every one has loneliness

The Gift of Love Hits: 9397 Short Christmas Poems

Today is Christmas
and all over the World children eagerly search under the tree to see what special gift Santa left them
Your gift to me won't be wrapped and placed under the tree
It will never be a disappointment
and never go out of style
It cannot be exchanged
and I will never be tired of it
Your gift brings a tear to my eye
and a smile to my lips
It makes my heart skip a beat
whenever I think you cared enough to give it to me
This Christmas I received something very precious to me
More precious than all the money
and all the gold in the world
This Christmas you gave me the greatest gift of all
the Gift of Love
