    Broken, Retched World

Everyday we ignore how truly broken this world is.

We tell ourselves that the world is okay, that we’ll survive.

Truth is: not only is this world not as pleasing as it all seems, but we are all a bunch of liars.

I can sit here and tell you how happy I am to be alive and well.

I can tell you that I am thankful for waking up each morning, and breathing in deep air.

But what I won’t tell you is that I am just hiding behind my smile, my laugh, my words.

Hopefully if I am optimistic enough it will shelter me from this broken world.

My own reflection will keep me safe from the negative interactions on a day to day basis.

    False. Its just more lies.

We are all waiting on someone to come and save us from this retched place.

    WHERE ARE YOU?!?!

    If Only You Spoke Up

If only I could change my name.

If only I could start over.

If only you would hear what I wanted to tell you.

    If only you believed ME.

If only you didn’t laugh and pretend it wasn’t happening.

If only you stood up for me.  I would owe you so much.

If only if you listened just once…

I never asked for anything more.

But you ignored me and now there is no “me” left.

    Now look who’s laughing.

    Mirrors

When I look in the mirror what do I see??

I see a stranger at times and a best friend at others.

I see a face that has opportunities; but doesn’t even catch them.

I see someone with so many options; but chooses not to use them.

I see a girl who can have accomplishments; but decides not to jump at the chance of success.

I see a person whose emotions are so confusing and wild; she has to rebuild the relationships she has broken.

Time after time, again and again.

I see this girl who gives off the impression that everything is okay when its not.

I see someone who could strive and do great; if she only let people help her.

A girl whose dreams are higher than the sky.

Someone who could be loved; if she, for once, tried to love back.

Everyday I see me in that stupid mirror and sadly…

Mirrors sure as hell don’t lie.
