    Two

My goal was to get over you

But it was something I could never do

    I see you standing there

And I can’t help but stare

I meant so much to you at some point

But you won’t even look at me now

My love for you never changed

    But your feelings did

One, two, three, four, six months

What’s the point in counting if you know its forever?

My feelings for you will end one day

But until then I rot in this ditch

Full of old feelings and memories

That trigger my heart to itch

    I don’t see why I miss you

You were nothing great to begin with

    But somehow, along the lines

    I began crying deep inside

It took me a while to only realize

I was nothing special in your eyes

    Someway I convinced myself different

Maybe I was someone worth saving

    I now know the truth

And I have nothing left to say

    You ripped my heart out

As I remember the pain, six months after

You can say you’re sorry, but the damage is done

I’m left with something that is less than none

Though I can’t be any happier now

You have taught me the lessons of love
