    My dera

Maybe my desk was bare today
maybe I lost sands of time
maybe there was no room left in my heart
but there was a corner, cozy corner
    in the sunset light
and a single rose lay dying there
as if placed by a playful child
    the fragrance of rose
    swept the room
    as the window
    sash was lifted by chance
    the thought of you
    crossed my mind
as evening dusk began to dance
    with the stars
    and a little bird whispered
to me as often little birds do
    that I neglected to check
if the rose had a name
    I peeked
and the rose’ name was you

    lOVE eTERNAL

Love is divine Love is a gift
God is Love and God the Giver
To think to take in terms of Love
    Is grossly to err
    No less misguided
Is the thought a Love to seek
    Loves must be together brought
    by Love Himself by God
and Love so brought is never in error
    To have loved and lost
Is famously known to be a blessing
One far greater than to be alone
Yet for all Love has to offer
    Love’s lost lovers often suffer
    Not rightly so
Before their Love they were less blessed
    Though after losing thwarted feel
    Willfully crave they self pity
Rather than go on blissfully in remembrance
Of the greatest gift they’ve known
    Eternal love ever after
Abides alive, their heart has shown
    Not to be erased, forgotten,
    No! It perseveres the tide
    E’en ‘gainst treachery it lingers
Proving itself within them lives . . .
Keep the Love to you once given
As a Gift from Heaven above
    Cherish it and know forever
That without Its stringent hold upon your heart
You would never Love have known . . .
Or would you accurse the Giver
Seek yourself a love to take
It will fail worse than the Former
But if you beheld the glory still
    Of that once glowing Ember
Dream of it as you remember
Else were you without a pain
    Also lacking Love’s great flame!

    A heart that’s pure

Just between friends this I must say
I never looked his way today
I never wish to ever more
    I don’t know now what wishing’s for
but just between friends I could never tell you
ah! the splendor I have found
treasure of exquisite measure waiting yet to be explored
    there’s no boundary to searching
when the longing has expired, not because I let die embers
only for the sake of wars
for I discharged the charging warriors who were lashing at my soul
and I found the joy of heaven slumbers not in charmers’ throes
in the parlour of the broken
    chandelier of my soul
now I know the joy of sharing love
    is but to children known
known to those who are innocent, known to those who have no goal
but to love you as they have you, simply free to come as go
in the eyes of such a young boy
    and in his endearing hold
he expressed my heart’s desire and as simply let life flow on beyond my dreary knoll
of this one I never weary
    reminiscing ne’er grows old
    and his virtue never tarnished
    is preserved in childhood gold

    An add for sheiler

    In this day of automation
    even friendship pays the price
lost the human touch, the wisdom
    of a little quaint advice
all I wanted was to say yes
    to your kindly friend request
    hours later i’m befuddled
    techno- vs. social grace
either way I have lost face
and sit alone without you huddled

    A Sneeze and Why

I sit and sneeze and one on-looking
    blesses me, though strangers we.
I stand and moan and one my neighbor
looks askance, there is no dance.
I run and cry and one close by
stresses hard, to hide my labor.
Won’t you come and taste my cooking?
    Better that, less dangers be
Hid in fry pans than in whispers,
Lost in manners. But in confidence alone
shall we bring the children home.
