You thought you had

sorted everything out,

had pawed your way

through the tangle and clutter –

you had everything in order,

neat little rows

everything listed

and accounted for –

Door

then she throws open

a door,

sending everything into chaos

you step in, look around

with a gasp,

shaking your head

over how you could have

missed something so obvious

she smiles and observes,

“there’s more, you know –

why don’t we open

this one?”   ….
