A fallen love it seems that bids her grief;

Tears and sorrow, loneliness with deadly anger,

Have slain the lover of her taunting revenge,

A fallen love misgiven she receives

For all her hate, forms with every avenge

Love is forever reverenced, jubilant and malleable,

Too unjust and scathe or fire to cleave,

Manifested within dreams and memories,

The stars, the moon, the sun, and the broken

That girds and fights thee, Sorrow: cold and black

Seems now the sin she faces is unspoken

She has taken love-no chance, no life, no plaque:

What gift, what gift is this that has given her back?
